LOCAL PINTO RULES

FIELD SET UP
a)The Home team is responsible for field
set up, if the field has not already been prepped. This includes raking the
infield, watering the infield, and striping the lines. The field must be
watered after the game is over also.
b)The Visitor team is responsible for
emptying the trash cans in the stands and the dug outs after the game.
c)50 foot distance between bases
d)Chalk lines are drawn at the mid-point
between bases, but not between home and first base.
OFFENSIVELY
a)Batting order is continuous and consists
of all players in attendance.
b)Each team will have 5 turns at bat, but
the game should not exceed 1 hour .
c)Coaches pitch to the batters.
d)Each batter will receive a maximum of 5
pitches. If a ball is not put into play after 5 pitches the batter will use a T.
Foul balls do not enable a batter to receive more than 5 pitches.
e)Once 3 outs are recorded, the team
batting will switch with the team in the field.
f)If 5 runs are scored before 3 outs are
recorded then the at-bat is over.
g)If a player leaves the game his/her
batting position is eliminated without penalty.
BASE RUNNING
a)No leading off base or stealing.
b)Runners may advance only on a batted ball
or an “extra” base hit
c)No intentional contact on attempting to
get to a base or the runner will be called out.
d)No head first sliding at any base.
DEFENSIVELY
a)Maximum of 10 defensive players may take
the field at any one time (4 infielders, 4 outfielders, one pitcher position to
accompany the coach inside the circle, and 1 ADULT catcher).
b)Outs are recorded the same as regular
baseball.
c)No infield fly rule will apply.
d)The Coach of the team at bat will
determine the location of the base runners at the time the pitcher raises
his/her arms. If a runner is at or crosses the mid-point between the bases the
runner will be awarded the base. If not, the runner must return to the base he
was occupying and is not out.
e)The pitcher may catch the ball and throw
to a base to record an out.
GENERAL PLAYING RULES
a)The Home is listed second and Visitor
teams will be listed first on the on the game schedule.
b)No metal cleats allowed at any time.
c)A catcher is not mandatory but if one is
used a protective cup, throat guard, and all other guards must be used.
d)Games will be a maximum of 6 innings or 1
hour , whichever comes first and regardless of where the game stands at the end
of the time limit. If the game is called on time and a partial inning is
played, the score will revert back to the last complete inning.
e)There is no official score book other
than to record outs in an inning.
f)All games must start within 10 minutes of
scheduled start time.
g)If a team has more than 10 defensive
players then players must be rotated every other inning.
h)A team can play with 8 defensive players
in the field if that is all that come to the game. All players that come to the
game will play. If there are less than 8 defensive players then the team that
is short may borrow players from the other team.
I)Any player or Coach intentionally
throwing equipment in anger or using fowl language will be ejected from the
game by the Pinto league Director on the field.
j)All coaches must be certified by the Toro
league and be subject to a background check.
k)Rain delays or mid-game cancellations are
at the Coaches discretion and will not be made up during the season.
