Mid-Season 2009 Rule ChangesMid-Season Rules Changes
Stealing home is OK
No curve balls, slight breaking pitches that are not curve balls at the discretion of the umpire
The team with the most players has the opportunity to match batting line up of opposing team to plus one. In other words, if a team has 9 players and the opposing team has 12 players, the team with the most players (12) can reduce its batting line up to 10 players. However, the rules of participation are still in effect, as each player must appear in the field at a minimum of 2 innings
Mustang
A player may lead off at 1st or 2nd base but cannot do so at 3rd base. A player on 3rd base cannot leave the base before the ball crosses home plate
The dropped 3rd strike rule is in effect
No player on 3rd base is allowed to steal home on a pass ball
There is no “delayed stealing”. For example, a player at 3rd base cannot venture down the base path and when the ball is returned to the pitcher attempt to steal home. However, if the catcher returns the ball to the pitcher and the throw by the catcher is errant, the ball is considered live and the player at 3rd may advance at his own risk |
